  • Welcome Students!

    Dr. Marge Bisenius

My name is Dr. Marge Bisenius (Dr. “B”) and I am one of the physicians at Student Health Services on campus.  I am a fully trained family medicine physician who has practiced in the Omaha area since 2003.  I started my working relationship at UNO when I was a family medicine resident getting involved as a team physician with Student Athletics for the Mavericks.  That continued after graduation until I teamed up with the staff at Student Health almost 3 years ago now.   I am thrilled to be a part of the Student Health Organization and staff as I think they give 110% day in and day out to provide all students, faculty and staff the best education about healthcare issues, and actual patient care possible.

It is my hope that the opportunity to reach me via the web may provide yet another avenue to access the best healthcare possible for yourself during your time here at UNO.  This is not designed to take away from the importance of face-to-face contact with your physician.  I still strongly feel that this provides the best avenue to assess your healthcare needs.  And I will be honest, there may be times that, even after trying to obtain a “virtual office visit,” I still ask that you be seen in clinic, whether by me or one of the other physicians.  Please understand, I took an oath to provide you my best clinical judgment in whatever concerns you at the time.  If I don’t think I can make that decision via the web, than I wouldn’t be doing my job if I gave you less than 100%.

But I also understand the busy demands of your life and schedule.  And I also realize that we don’t have a physician staffed at Student Health 24-7.  This should be a useful tool to help meet the needs of the patient and eliminate the challenges of re-arranging class/work schedules, finding transportation to urgent cares, etc.

I want to provide you with the best healthcare possible at all times and I want this to be another avenue of doing just that.  Thanks again for visiting this site and I look forward to helping you in any way possible.  GO MAVS!!!
